| The Missionary Catechists of Divine Providence have always searched out opportunities to advance the Mission and Vision of the Congregation. In the 1970's MCDP Sisters began to solicit funds from foundations to help further the education of the MCDP Membership. It was not until 1985 that the MCDP Congregation began to make a concerted effort to build relationships with people that believed in the mission of the congregation which is to help empower lay leadership in the church, especially the Hispanic and with the emphasis on the poor and neglected. | |
| The Office of Mission and Congregational Advancement is about cultivating relationships (friend building) with people that believe in the mission and projects (ministries) of the congregation. Some of these projects are as follows: Benitia Family Center which provides drug and alcohol counseling and family crisis counseling, the recruitment of new members (vocation promotion), the education and on-going formation of MCDP Sisters, the Medical and Retirement Needs of Sisters, and Subsidizing the ministry of MCDP Sisters in areas that cannot afford to support a MCDP Sister. | |
| Each person has been gifted with time, talent and treasure. As Christians we have the obligation to use this gifts for the good of all. Our Stewardships calls us to wisely use our gifts. The Office of Mission and Congregational invites people to collaborate in the work of Jesus by partnering with the MCDP Congregation in furthering Jesus' Gospel Values. "People must think of us as Christ's servants, stewards entrusted with the mysteries of God" (l Cor4:1) | |
